Everything you need to know about Clipboard History Manager
Clipboard History Manager is a web-based utility application that enables you to capture, organize, search, and manage your clipboard history. It allows you to manually save clipboard content and access it later without losing previously copied items.
Click the 'Capture Clipboard' button at the top of the application. The current content in your system clipboard will be saved to your history. The application will automatically detect and prevent duplicate entries.
Your clipboard history is stored in your browser's localStorage, which means it persists across browser sessions. However, it is stored locally on your device and will be cleared if you clear your browser data or use a different browser/device.
Use the search bar at the top of the application to filter your clipboard items. The search works in real-time and will show only items that contain your search query in their content.
Pinning an item keeps it at the top of your clipboard history list, making it easily accessible. Pinned items are marked with a filled pin icon and remain at the top regardless of when they were captured.
Click the 'Copy' button on any clipboard history item. The content will be copied to your system clipboard, and you'll see a confirmation message. You can then paste it anywhere you need.
Yes! Click the 'Expand' button on any item to view its full content. Long text is initially truncated for better readability, but you can expand any item to see everything.
Click the 'Delete' button (trash icon) on any item. You'll be asked to confirm the deletion to prevent accidental removal. Once confirmed, the item will be permanently removed from your history.
Yes! Once the application is loaded, it works entirely in your browser without requiring an internet connection. All data is stored locally on your device.
The application doesn't impose a specific limit, but browser localStorage has a storage limit (typically 5-10MB). Very large amounts of data may affect performance or reach browser storage limits.
Yes, the application is responsive and works on mobile devices. However, clipboard access on mobile browsers may have limitations depending on your device and browser.
Yes! All your clipboard data is stored locally in your browser and never sent to any server. Your clipboard history remains completely private on your device.
Clearing your browser data, including localStorage, will delete your entire clipboard history. Make sure to back up any important items before clearing browser data.
Currently, the application focuses on in-browser management. You can manually copy items you want to save elsewhere, but there's no built-in export feature at this time.
For security and privacy reasons, browsers restrict automatic clipboard access. The manual capture approach ensures you have full control over what gets saved to your history.
